Ralf is an IoT Sales Specialist at Amazon Web Services (AWS). In this role, he helps Enterprise customers from leading industries such as Manufacturing, Automotive, Utilities and Consumer goods adopt AWS IoT and cloud services across the European continent. “After the first wave of IoT and Machine-to-Machine Services, many companies now realize the greater potential of cloud services and AWS when comparing their first on-premise IoT Platforms. Considering Machine Learning capabilities and AI, this leads to a significant momentum in the industry asking to migrate to the AWS cloud. Given the growth of IoT connected services, we see some companies run to capacity issues, faster then they can provision new local servers,” he says. To deliver IoT projects with enterprise customers, he works with AWS Technology and System Integration Partners.
Prior to AWS, Ralf was appointed Head of Eastern Europe and Partner Markets in October 2013 for Vodafone. In this role, he led Vodafone IoT’s Eastern European and Partner Market business driving Vodafone’s IoT growth, business strategy, products and services across Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania and in Vodafone’s Partner Market in Austria, and the greater Balkan region. During this time, he doubled the IoT business for Vodafone together with his expert IoT team. For Vodafone IoT, he implemented major projects, with leaders in construction, freight forwarding, chemical gas manufacturing, and helped companies such as GE to connect their machines.

After starting his career at Mannesmann Mobilfunk GmbH, in 2005 he continued to work at Siemens Communication, Siemens USA and Siemens / Cinterion Wireless Modules, focusing on Sales and Business Development of vertical Machine-to-Machine and IoT applications such as the Automation Industry Sector. Having started in the Machine-to-Machine industry as early as of 2005, he has a wealth of experience allowing him to understand what drives a successful IoT project.
